Euro 2008

I won’t post much about the Euro 2008, because as every rational thinking Austrian, who’s not too much into football, I got fed up with the Euro about 3 months ago. But I visited my parents tonight and my father watched the match (Croatia – Austria) and I was being sociable and watched it as well.

Anyway, in case you haven’t heard, Austria lost, 1:0 and left the nation shocked and surprised. But not beause we lost, but for these two reasons:

  1. We lost only 1:0.
  2. Austria played a decent game, and one could argue that in the second half they played better than Croatia.

Now all hopes rest on the matches against Poland and Germany. Maybe it is within our reach to not completely make fools of ourselves… who would have thought?

  1. I think we won’t make it against Poland, either. But my hopes lay on us smashing the Germans :o)
I’m staying at Vienna, by the way. Because I need a few books for university and a car and I can’t buy these things in the Carinthian mountains. And … jeez. I think some of the fans are even decent and sweet, not too loud. Always nice if gloomy foresight isn’t right.

  2. I think chances are higher that we beat Poland than that we beat Germany. But I also believe that neither will happen. Unless of course Austria’s hatred loving rivalry against Germany will tip the scales… :)

Great! I’m happy things worked out for you, fanwise.
If you stay here, we can do something this weekend, together with Deadra! [If she’s still able to be social, seeing as she as good as disappeared from earth…]

  3. Doing something cool on the weekend is fine with me.
And I do love the Germans. Only not concerning soccer (arrogant bastards, at least we always win the skiing contest… *brabbel*)

I really shouldn’t be online… I should study this boring business stuff which always gets me in a philosphical mood and draws me towards marxism. Or gets me to do the laundry. hmmmm…..

  4. Germans really have a way to make themselves unpopular when encountered in groups. If you get them alone, they are really nice, but when there’s more than 4 together… RUN!
    Kind of like teenagers. :P

You can do the business stuff, I know it. Even if it takes forever to get started. I know that as well. :)
But I’m honoured that you waste your time on my blog.
