Went to the movies again yesterday. Will go again tonight. God, I love not having uni!
Anyway, I saw Once yesterday, finally. After falling in love with the music, regretting that the film wasn’t shown in Austria, falling in love with the music again and celebrating the Oscar, an Austrian cinema decided, it would give me the pleasure of seeing it on the big screen. [Well. Big’s relative. Definitely bigger than TV, though.]
It’s a wonderful little movie.
Even though the quality of the pictures themselves sucks sometimes [yeah, I know. Comes with a small budget], I saw it dubbed [They didn’t dub the songs, that’s good. But it made for a weird effect: Glen Hansard singing… Completely different voice talking with Glen Hansard’s face. The same of course for Markéta Irglová. When movies are entirely dubbed, at least you can pretend that that’s the actor’s voice…] and we can argue about their acting abilities, the movie managed to make me fall in love with the music all over again.
Anyway, it’s sweet and down-to-earth and did I mention the great music?
PS: I finally get the song “Brokenhearted Hoover Fixer Sucker Guy”.
PPS: imdb has a plot keyword for Vacuum Cleaner Repair Shop… O_o Thankfully, Once is the only movie in it.
