I discovered (for me) a (to me) new artist, and I thought I’d share with you: Phil Hansen‘s the one. What’s so special about him, is on the one hand, the way he creates his pictures and on the other hand that a lot of his things are Good Bye Art, meaning that he destroys them after he’s done.
Here’s one example:
How it came to be:
I broadcast my phone number via the internet and asked people to call me and tell me a moment that changed their life. All of these moments were written over the course of 136 hours of which I didn’t leave the work space except for restroom breaks.
And a Close-up:
Pretty cool, huh?
Or here’s his Virgin Mary, painted with/on Peanutbutter and Jelly sandwiches.
And here’s an example of his Good Bye Art:
The picture was made with matches, which were then set on fire. Don’t believe me? Here’s a close up:
His stuff is really cool and very amazing. You can also have a look at his blog, where he details the creative process.
