67th Golden Globe Awards

The Golden Globes are upon us! I’m gonna be updating this post as the results come in. So, keep on refreshing to know the winners and what I thought about it all. :)

More infos on the movies here.

Start

Reading Neil Gaiman’s twitter feed (who is attending with Amanda Palmer) has warmed me up nicely for the Golden Globes. I’m ready for them to start now (especially, since I’m sitting through the last minutes of Walking Tall: Lone Justice, which would be an awesome title for a spoof if it wasn’t real). I especially enjoyed this tweet:

We have an escort. We have silicone nipple covers (not for me). It’s go!

It’s two a.m. and Kevin Sorbo is still all manly. Dammit.

Okay, it’s 2:01. Kevin Sorbo just shot the bad guy. I hope it’s over now and that I’m not missing too much.

2:02 Noooooooooooo. An epilogue.

FINALLY!

Ricky Gervais: “You probably know me as the creator of The Office. No, you don’t. You think Steven Carrell did it all.”

lol RG just tried to sell the Office box set.

RG: “Let’s look at all the great work that has been done this year. By plastic surgeons. (…) I’ve had a penis reduction. Just have one now.”

RG: “How could you replace Kiefer Sutherland on 24? (…) Some of the scenes, by the way, were he beats some terrorists to a pulp, they weren’t even in the script.”

RG: “Let’s get on with it before NBC replaces me with Jay Leno.”

People are wearing ribbons in support for Haiti.

My tip: Up in the Air has certainly raked up the most press. But I’ll be happy about any of these movies so long as it’s not Avatar.
Winner: Avatar

*goes to sob in a corner*

People, I don’t know what to say. Yeah, it looks good, but it’s got a crappy story, mediocre acting and the score is so-so. This movie does not deserve this win.

And the Oscars will be just like it and I’m going to hate them for it.

Final words by Ricky Gervais, who plugs himself again. And that’s it.

I’ll go to bed now since I have to get up in 90 minutes (time zones, how I hate you sometimes).
