Last year, I had seen seven of the nominated movies. This year, I would have seen none of them, if it hadn’t been for New Moon. [DAMMIT!] [And I’ve promised my brother in law to watch Transformers 2 with him tomorrow… *le sigh*] I have to admit that the list this year is especially repetitive. And since they distinguish between worst movie and worst sequel, they shouldn’t have included the movies in both categories.
Oh well… Any thoughts?
I’ve seen two of them, “New Moon” and “G.I. Joe”.
But I admit, it’s been a bad year for *really* craptastic movies. There are lots and lots of bad ones, but it takes a special kind of fail to deserve a Razzie.
Besides, let’s face it, we had a lot of fun watching “New Moon”.
I wouldn’t have wanted to miss watching New Moon together… It was great.
I’m a little disappointed that Avatar wasn’t nominated. At least in the Screenplay category… And Wolverine? Should have been in the Sequel category.
[Also, did you see the related posts? *lol*]
True…”Avatar” should have had a shot, but I guess you can’t argue with that sort of success…whoever earns that much money & acclaim for a movie is obviously doing something right.
Also, “Avatar” was very bad, but it fell short of craptastic (which is its own special flavour of awesome).
I concur on “Wolverine”, though. *That* was craptastic. And it would have been a better nominee for Worst Remake, Rip-Off or Sequel than “G.I. Joe”, which was a) already covered under Worst Picture and b) none of the above (strictly speaking).
The related posts are great.
Avatar: Too bad to be good, to good to be bad.
Maybe it will turn out that this movie is so successful because ten people worldwide keep seeing it over and over again.
Yeah, I was wondering about G.I. Joe on the Rip-Off list, too.
