Books

A snarky blog-along of the Twilight Books.

Excerpt from The Good Man Jesus and the Scoundrel Christ. [Though I think the matter interesting, I’m afraid that the style it’s written in is a little tiring.] Oh, and:

Stephenie Meyer to Publish New Twilight Novella. [Just what the world needed!]

Chicks Dig Time Lords sounds amazingly awesome.

Hugo Award Nominations Are Out.

Movies

This would actually be really cool, people.

How 10 Movies Would Be Different If They Came From Nicholas Sparks Novels.

Sherlock Holmes to Meet Mary Russel in the next movie.

Johnny Lee Miller cast in Walking Dead adaptation. [Also, has the writer of this piece never seen Trainspotting.]

and

DILF the Movie: short film with Sarah Haskins.

TV

This would actually be really cool, too, people.

  1. Alright…I survived work. Barely. (Why do they always know when I’m having a bad day? I swear the brats can smell it. And then I get stuff like this: “The Bullys sayd: ‘what do you off tis Side at the Brige?'” – presented to me with a winning grin and “I’m soooo good at this shit!”…argh)

    Anyway – brace yourself:

    – I’ll have to find ways to drop “moats of dust” and “traitor tears, betraying me” into everyday conversations. Not living in an English-speaking country will make this difficult…but I thrive on a challenge. (And I have your phone number. There might be ring-and-runs in your future.)

    – While Philip Pullman rules, the writing style in that extract is really, really weird. Sort of going back and forth between trying to imitate the bible and trying to write mediocre YA stuff. What happened there?

    – The “Chicks Dig Time Lords” link led me to the “Torchwood Babies” webcomic…much of my morning was spent ooooh-ing and awwww-ing at the cute-ness of it all.

    – I <3 Mary Russell. More Mary Russell in my life is always a good thing.

    – The "Twilight: Modern Warfare 2" trailer is funny, but I think there's a market for a simple shooter where you just kill everything that sparkles. I'd buy that.

    – WWII on Facebook is made of win.

Let's see…am I done? Probably. Am I writing in something like English? Maybe. Am I in need of a cup of tea and a bit of a lie-down? Definitely ^.~

    • [Kids go for your weaknesses, which they can gather intuitively… But I’m sure you did a wonderful job anyway.]

      – You can comment on the moats of dust anytime you come to visit and see them in my flat. I give you my official permission.
And maybe you’ve been crying traitor tears, betraying you when you read about the Brige?

      – I don’t know what happened with Philip Pullman. I read the excerpt and thought that there’s no way I could read a whole book written like that.

      – Torchwood Babies… say no more.

      – The sparkle shooter sounds awesome. I’d buy that, too. [Or probably download a cracked version.]

      • [Guh. Wednesday is officially the worst day of the week. Thus it was THE WORST DAY to go back to work after a week and a half away from anyone under the age of 20. But that’s alright. I only have to get through two more days of this – and neither of these days is a Wednesday – before I get another week off. And then, when I start again, it’ll be on a Monday. I can handle Mondays.]

So, “Call of Duty: Sparkledämmerung” – I think that would give us the most enjoyable, gleeful gaming-massacres since “Worms”.

        • [I’ll keep my fingers crossed for your work week…]

          Sparkledämmerung… I like that.

And no, I didn’t know the video but it’s totally awesome. :)
          “Blahblahblah, Mister Freeman.”

  2. Dear Mr Ritchie,
Mary Russell in the new Holmes movie? I’m sorry, but as much as we all like Laurie R King’s work (though don’t much care for Russell herself, she’s a bit of a prig) that is ABSOLUTELY. NOT. GOING. TO. WORK. Read the books some time.

    kthxbye.
