My Life in Movies – Meme Monday

Films That Remind Me of Childhood

The Last Unicorn. Groundhog Day. The Muppet Christmas Carol. The Disney Movies. Jesus Christ Superstar. And many, many more.

Childhood Films Where Removal was Necessary

I once had to remove myself from a book because it was so gruesome but never from a film.

Films that Defined My Teens

Fight Club. Moulin Rouge!. Titanic, of course. Lord of the Rings.

Films Seen Multiple Times at Theatres

Clash of the Titans [No, I’m not kidding]. Lord of the Rings. Titanic. That’s the complete list.

First Date Film

Never been on a date in the cinema. I’d probably suck at it anyway because I’d want to watch the film.

Nightmares from Films

Nope, don’t get them.

Films that are Guilty Pleasures

There’s Gladiator, Clueless, there are about a ton childhood-nostalgia-movies… I practically have more guilty movie pleasures than any other.

Last Film I Saw at the Theatre

Red. It was great fun.

Favourite Film Nobody Else Seems to Know About

There are a couple of films people I know only ever seem to watch because I urge them to. Like Mysterious Skin, Hedwig and the Angry Inch or Velvet Goldmine. [Seriously, people, watch them, they’re awesome.] And that’s just off the top of my head. I’m sure I could think of more movies that would deserve more attention, though I’m sure that I sound like a broken record with a few of them. [They keep on coming: Little Voice. Little Odessa. Death to Smoochy. Love the Hard Way. Le Roi Danse. Spiele Leben.]

    • It doesn’t make you cheesy – it makes your taste in movies cheesy. ;P

But I really love Gladiator, it’s a guilty pleasure of mine because I enjoy it so unironically. And I actually get tears in my eyes at the worst lines.

  1. I was about to ask the exact same thing! I thought it was just plain good.

Also I haven’t heard of any of your favourite films that nobody else seems to know about, but I;ll check them out sometime.

    • I love Gladiator, but it’s not really a good movie. I mean, the acting is quite good, but the script is completely cheesy. But it works, somehow.
But I guess opinions vary. ;)

And do check those films out! I don’t think you’ll regret it. :)
