The Blue Man Group is a theatre/performance/show. It’s currently also in Vienna.
Plot:
Before going into the show, I thought, “there’s actually not much I know about this show. I know that there are blue guys and they do some drumming.” And nobody I talked to seemed to know more. Now I know why – it’s not because they don’t do more, but because it’s really hard to characterise what it is exactly that they do do. There’s comedy, there’s music, there’s audience participation. I guess it’s best experienced for yourself.
In any case, I was very well entertained and I laughed a lot. [Though listening to the people around me, not everybody liked it as much as I did.] If you don’t ask for a cohesive whole, you’ll have a great night.
The show consists of a sequence of scenes, basically, none of which have much to do with the other. That makes it feel a little disjointed, but at the same time this enables them to play with a lot of concepts that wouldn’t be enough for a whole show otherwise. Like the Marshmallow-Catching or the drumming on the plastic pipes or the color drumming, which looks absolutely brilliant. Everything on its own is wonderful. Put together, it doesn’t make much sense if you think of it as one story. But who says that you should think of it as a story?
Also, the boygroup/dance moves-part alone was wort at least half the (incredibly high) admission price.
Anyway, I had my doubts about the “volunteers” they picked from the audience. They seemed a little too willing and not confused enough to actually be normal audience members, but I didn’t mind either way – because their bits were great.
What I didn’t like that much was the paper at the end. There was way too much paper and it got a little claustrophobic. Also, the waste, people, the waste… I’m not the recyclingest of person (though I try), but that just hurt.
Summarising: good music, good show, good entertainment, good to have seen it at least once.

They recycled the paper. Made a point of mentioning it.
Also – Now, kill the cow!!!
I know about the paper. Still, even wasting recycled paper is wasting.
Killing the cow was pretty awesome. :)
