CATT (Support: Nnella)

CATT played a concert in Vienna with supporting singer Nnella.

CATT’s concert was the last of the concerts I had tickets for that got pushed back due to COVID – I bought the ticket in 2021, and finally, the show happened. And it was well worth the wait – it was a really good concert, full of energy and good music.

I didn’t know supporting singer Nnella before the show, but she was definitely a nice fit for CATT and shows a lot of promise as a singer-songwriter in her own right. Her songs maybe aren’t quite there yet, but she has fun on stage and I’m confident that she will get there (well, at least if given half a chance, it’s not that easy as a female musician in a small country like Austria).

CATT is basically where Nnella could get to with her work, I feel, with a few more years of experience (not that CATT is that much older). I really love her music that is full of energy, but in a calm way somehow. And she is the same on stage: energetic, present and able to conjure up a good atmosphere, but in a relaxed, laid back manner. Plus, she played a suprising array of instruments (apart from singing) which is always an impressive feat, especially for someone like me who never learned to play one even half-decently.

Her show was a nice walk through her discography so far, including some old and some new stuff. Given that the concert was basically two tours rolled into one, I think that’s only fair. In any case, it made for a good mix – especially since my current favorite of her songs – Wild Heart – wasn’t missing (as it is the single for her new album, that is not suprising, but still good).

Due to personal circumstances, the concert will probably be my last for a while – and what a nice point to take a break!

Summarizing: great concert.
