Seen on: 4.8.2019

Plot:
Cassius (LaKeith Stanfield) lives with his girlfriend, the artist Detroit (Tessa Thompson), in his uncle Sergio’s (Terry Crews) garage. Money is tight and that doesn’t really change when Cassius starts a new job as a telemarketer. But success is just around the corner when Cassius discovers his white voice and uses it in his sales. At the same time though his co-worker Squeeze (Steve Yeun) is starting to raise concerns about the products they are selling.

Sorry to Bother You is a wild film, in the best sense: it takes you into entirely different directions and it has so much fun with exploring and experimenting, that it doesn’t matter in the slightest when things get a little messy. I was thoroughly charmed by pretty much everything about it.

Recently his dreams have been dominated by Cheryl (Kristen Wiig). And then Life gets taken over. For their last issue they are supposed to have star photographer Sean O’Connell’s (Sean Penn) self-proclaimed best photo on the cover – but Walter can’t find it. So he makes his way through the world to track Sean down.

The Scret Life of Walter Mitty was an incredibly sweet, funny and nice film that won me over with its sense of humor and its beautiful images.

Young Adult (2011)

Young Adult
Director: Jason Reitman
Writer: Diablo Cody
Cast: Charlize Theron, Patton Oswalt, Patrick Wilson, Elizabeth Reaser

Plot:
Mavis (Charlize Theron) lives from a young adult book series she basically ghostwrote and is currently desperately struggling to finish the last book. Into her booze-filled void of a life comes the announcement that her high school sweetheart Buddy (Patrick Wilson) has had a baby. On a whim, Mavis drives to her hometown to try and win Buddy back. But Buddy is actually quite happy and Mavis is actually quite broken, so things don’t look too good.

I don’t exactly know what I expected of this film, but it definitely wasn’t what I got. I guess I thought this movie would be funny? Instead it was one of the most depressing and bitter films I’ve ever seen. I didn’t care much for it.
