Everything’s Evil

The internet lied to me… I can’t believe it… *whine*

I wanted to go to the movies today. Because L. could go with me (which doesn’t happen too often, baby and all) and she doesn’t want to see Be Kind, Rewind but something with a lot of explosions, I figured that Iron Man would be a good choice. And I looked it up and the internet said it would start at 8.30.

We arrived early at the cinema, looked at the screen and there was no mention of Iron Man. I grabbed one of the movie magazines lying around and found out that Iron Man’s release is not until tomorrow in Austria. No show today. So the internet lied to me. My world’s shaken. Maybe I should start researching now if there really is a Jewish conspiracy, if unicorns really exist and if the Matrix is real. Obviously, the internet is not to be trusted.

Anyway, put before the choice of seeing Fool’s Gold, The Pleasure of Your Company (aka Wedding Daze) and Michael Clayton, guess what we chose.

Right. So, the evil internet put us before an evil choice and we decided for the film about the evil corporation. Which actually suited me fine, because I wanted to see Michael Clayton for a long time and never made it. And it suited L. because she’s a law student on the way to her PhD and it featured two explosions, twice.

It was a good movie. I especially liked Tilda Swinton‘s and Tom Wilkinson‘s performance.

The part where they repeat the beginning sequence only mostly from another point of view was a bit tedious as there was too much repetition and too little other point of view.

Other than that it was a successfully made film, but I don’t need to see it again.

  1. Clearly, you’re bored.

    Tom Wilkinson in Michael Clayton – my favorite performance from last year. That monolgue: pure genius.

  2. I’d love to go see Be Kind Rewind…but it’s probably not going to happen *sniff*

    “it featured two explosions, twice”…? So, four explosions, then? Or two explosions repeated from a different POV? Nevermind. Not that important.

  3. @presti:
    Tom Wilkinson was great, you’re right!

    @deadra:
    You just have to come to Vienna to see it.

    it featured two explosions, twice. Exactly what I wrote (two explosions repeated from a different POV) :)

    Of course, the Tibetan monks. I forgot.
