Okay, the following videos are here because of the video itself, not the song. Though I do like all of the songs. I tend to not watch music videos where I don’t like the song. This kind of limits my scope and deadra probably has a more comprehensive list (than anybody else).

Who couldn’t love a video that’s modelled on The Shining?
9. Bodyrock – Moby
First: The dancer is great. Second: It makes me laugh every time. Third: The escalations!
8. 1 2 3 4 – Feist
It looks so simple, but is a lot of work. And it’s so friendly and fits the song so perfectly.
7. Never Miss A Beat – Kaiser Chiefs tied with Fluorescent Adolescent – Arctic Monkeys
In the category of “Weirdly Dressed Up Mobs”, we have a tie. The Kaiser Chiefs get all the points for having children in their video and everybody knows that children are freaky. The Arctic Monkey get all the points for having clowns in their video and everybody knows that clowns are freaky.

How do you get my love for all eternity? Referencing Batman characters. How do you get my adoration for all eternity and a spot on the Top 10 list? Referencing two (2) Batman characters at the same time…
5. Cold Shoulder – Adele
Okay, I know I said it was about the videos only, but let me tell you ADELE ROCKS! She has a great voice and great songs and everything’s perfect.
Good. Back to the topic at hand: The video, as simple as it is, is wonderful and beautiful.
4. Crystal Ball – Keane
I don’t think that there’s a scarier video out there. And I like scary things. But apart from that, it’s got Giovanni Ribisi, who is a great actor with some problems in the movie choice department. But he does a very good job here.
3. Otherside – Red Hot Chili Peppers
Just look at it – I love the whole design. And Anthony Kiedis was never sexier. Nor do I think that he will be.
2. Weapon of Choice – Fatboy Slim tied with Praise You – Fatboy Slim
Another tie, I know, I know. But honestly, in the category of great Fatboy Slim videos how could I decide between Christopher Walken in all his glory and the hilarity that is Praise You? That’s right, I couldn’t.

Smack My Bitch Up – Das Video dürft nicht ganz sein… Aber es fangt gut an. Und das Lied ist ja sowieso super.
It’s, Oh, So Quiet – Björk hat ja einige coole Videos. Ich kenn nur leider viel zu wenige… Und du hast recht, ich mag das Getanze. :)
Remind Me – Das Konzept ist echt cool. Das Lied ist weniger meins.
Sober – Find ich jetzt auch nicht so gruselig. Aber es ist ziemlich cool, das Video, mein ich.

und bei denen, wo du meintest “äh nicht so gruselig eigentlich” ist mir aufgefallen, dass sie ziemlich alle puppen enthalten. ich glaub ich hab angst vor puppen, die sind mir einfach unheimlich…

Schaut echt danach aus, als hättest du ein Problem mit Puppen. Die find ich gar nicht arg, deswegen wahrscheinlich auch meine “nicht so gruselig” Reaktion… Ich hab dafür andere Hang-ups. Statuen, die sich bewegen zum Beispiel. Machen mich total fertig. Frag mich nicht warum.
Ja, Musikvideos sind echt ein unerschöpfliches Thema. Geb’ ich dir vollkommen recht. Und ich bin noch nicht mal wirklich ein Spezialist, aber ich könnt mich auch ewig drüber unterhalten.
Johnny Cash’s Hurt ist toll. Ist ein super, super schönes Lied und das Video treibt mir auch immer wieder Tränen in die Augen…
