Books
How to write a Dean Koontz novel.
So, George Orwell stole the plot for 1984, and he was not a good writer. Remind me again why people think that his books are works of literature?
Comics
The Dreaded Question – great short comic.
Movies
A round-up of probably the worst movies to come. On the plus side, there’s a little bit of Christopher Eccleston.
A new Hamlet with Emile Hirsch? The guy’s talented but do we need another Hamlet?
Apparently Hirsch himself has come up with a new twist on the Bard’s time-honoured fable, which takes place in a contemporary US setting and will play like a thriller. Perhaps Hamlet’s dying father shoots off a tweet about the manner of his murder most foul, only to use up all his 140 characters before he can reveal the identity of the assailant. He takes his secret to the grave, forcing dozens of Twitter followers to become cyber-sleuths and exeunt in pursuit of clues. Sorry, I should have issued a spoiler alert there.
Liam Neeson to be A-Team’s Hannibal.
Music
Politics
Religion
Speech by Nate Phelps about his father Fred Phelps and his abuse.

Apocryphacts: Trivia so good you’ll wish it were true.
Our Russian teacher told us about Zamyatin’s “Mbi” (We) a few years before the Guardian errr… revealed… this scandal. I also don’t know why this made the news.
I didn’t perceive it as news, really, it was more like a blog entry, a musing if you will.
It’s not like they wrote “SCANDALOUS REVELATION NEVER BEFORE MENTIONED”, more “this is the basis for my question/thought process, so I’ll tell you the little known story and then we can have an discussion.
I was supposed to read “We” for uni. Didn’t want to, although I’m almost sure that it’s bound to be better than Orwell.
Everybody seems to know that story – why didn’t I? Worrying.
Why do you think I put “GI Joe” on my list of films to look forward to? Christopher Eccleston.
Yeah, he’s a good reason. A very good reason. :)
Twitter Hamlet? Spare me… I think I just threw up in my mouth a little bit.
Plus, Barbarella remake? No, drop the sci-fi classic, bad Robert Luketic, bad boy! Where’s my rolled up newspaper?
They will never leave the classics alone. And you know why? Because in 0,000000001% of cases, it works.
@”Silenced”: The cartoon is really creepy.
On chili.cc you can see that Austrian girls/women don’t have the slightest problem with stating that they would have an abortion and having this together with their foto in the media.
@Phelbs: Terrible story. In Austria you would have to keep your family in the cellar-dungeon to mistreat them like that.
From which I draw the scientific conlusion that Austria is wwwway cooler than the US.
*rofl*
I tell you, any non-Austrian would be quite shocked by what you just said. I’m laughing my ass off.
Regarding Silenced: Yeah, Austria is quite mellow when it comes to protesting abortions. So, it’s not that much of a problem to publicly say that you had one.
