Gossip came to Austria to play a concert (according to what Beth Ditto said, it was the biggest concert they ever played – GO VIENNA!), so I had to go and see it together with *.

Anyway, we were rather late buying the tickets, which unfortunately meant that we only got seats, since there was no standing room left :(. But it was great nonetheless.

Their support was Ssion, but we didn’t see them because I met an old friend and his girlfriend before we went into the concert hall (coincidentally, they went to the concert, too) and then we had to drink a beer and catch up and when we got into the hall, Ssion had already finished. [I’ve youtubed them since and have to admit that I’m not really sorry about that.]

Anyway, they gave a rather long show and Beth Ditto knows how to work a crowd.There was a lot of interaction with the audience, she threw the microphone to the masses to let them sing and dammit, that woman has energy for about 10 people and an incredible presence. It was just a joy to watch.

She also proposed to one of the security guys and told us that she was going to have his baby. But that’s just on a minor side note.

They played mostly stuff from their newest album, but also some covers (including, during the encore, a great version of What’s Love Got to Do With It). Like so:

Anyway, my favourite songs were played, the audience was great and the band was completely awesome. The only thing that bothered me was that I couldn’t get up to dance… Screw actual seats at a concert like this!
