A Tale of Two Sisters is a movie by Ji-woon Kim, starring Su-jeong Lim, Geun-Young Moon, Jung-ah Yum and Kap-su Kim.
Plot:
The two sisters Soo-mi (Su-jeong Lim) and Soo-yeon (Geun-Young Moon) return from the hospital after a longer period of illness with their father (Kap-su Kim). At home, their stepmother Eun-joo (Jung-ah Yum) awaits them, at once overcaring and overbearing [sorry for the rhyme]. Slowly their traumatic history and their messed up relationships unfold.
Oh wow. Not only is this movie beautifully crafted, it’s also one of the most chilling horror movies I’ve ever seen. And the big plot twist took me completely by surprise.
There were a couple of twists in this movie, but once the first happened, I could guess the rest. But it happens rarely enough that even one plot twist suprises me [watched too many films I guess] – and this one completely blew me away.
But even if you weren’t suprised, there can be nothing but admiration for the plotting in this film, which is intricated and fits together like the perfect puzzle, slowly falling into place during the whole film – until you get the reveal which should answer any remaining questions.
The tension the movie manages is frankly astounding. And it mostly abstains from using “cheap tricks”, instead creates such a chilling atmosphere that I kept getting goosebumps over and over again.
Apart from the superb writing and pacing, the movie looked beautiful and was extremely well-acted, especially by the girls.
Ji-woon Kim really knows what he’s doing. Now excuse me while I get my hands on his entire filmography.
Summarising: An absolute Must-See for horror fans (and even for the people who only tolerate horror movies).

Oooooh, this sounds excellent! Adding to my queue.
It really was excellent.
