After the movie Underwater Love to which Stereo Total did the soundtrack, they played a concert at the /slash Filmfestival.

I knew some of Stereo Total’s songs before the show – especially Liebe zu Dritt, which my sister listened to on a continuous loop for a while a few years back – but I didn’t know a lot. Despite that and the fact that they had to fight with some technical issues, the concert was absolutely amazing.

Both Brezel and Françoise are charming, have a good presence on stage, a whole damn lot of energy and an excellent connection to their audience (which consists almost exclusively of hipsters).

They played a couple of songs from the Underwater Love soundtrack, but mostly just their normal stuff. It is pretty impressive in itself when a band starts singing in Japanese, then switches to German, French, English and finally Spanish. But it is even better when the songs are cool, too.

Summarising: a great show.
