Molly Shanker collects old porn movies and she put a few short Super 8 films from the 70s together to show at the /slash Filmfestival.
They showed five short movies altogether:
The Voyeur [which has the wonderful plot of a couple giving a voyeur a show]
A School Girl Dreams of King Kong [a young girl dreams of sex with King Kong, an obsession she passes on to her au pair before they share the au pair’s boyfriend]
Fick and Fack: Adventure in Space [an animated film about two astronauts landing on a planet full of horny women]
Incest [Mum and Dad catch their daughter masturbating and promptly take a hands on approach to her sex education]
The Sexorcist [another animated one about a young girl wanting to discover her own sexuality and promptly getting possessed]
I thought that a night like this really was a cool idea and the movies were very funny. I mean as porn movies they pretty much failed since they weren’t really exciting but they were entertaining.
Porn movies really are interesting. It is fascinating to see the plots of these movies – which are mostly just so stupid that they’re funny all on their own, never mind the ridiculous dialogues – but even more fascinating is the historical development.
You would never confuse a porn from the 70s with a porn from today. For one thing, there’s pubic hair (and general body hair) in the old ones, but also the way the people touch each other is quite different to modern porn movies. It somehow feels realer. Maybe because the positions are mostly less inventive, maybe because the newer films often feel a little sterile.
But apart from that component, the movies are funny especially in between the sex scenes. Admittedly all that fucking gets a little boring sometimes but the entertaining rest makes up for it.
Summarising: Would have loved to see more of Shanker’s collection.

I’ve been looking for a copy of A School Girl Dreams of King Kong for years – any chance Molly knows where to get this?
Any information you could provide would be absolutely amazing, and I’d be hugely grateful to you.
Thanks in advance…
I don’t really have any way of contacting Molly – but maybe the people from the /slash filmfestival could help you find her (slashfilmfestival.com).
That would probably be the best way to go about it.
