Plot:
Tim (Tim Heidecker) and Eric (Eric Wareheim) just threw out a billion dollars to make one scene of a crappy movie. And their producer Tommy Schlaaang (Robert Loggia) now wants the money back. So Tim and Eric jump at Damien Weebs’ (Will Ferrell) offer to run his shopping center for a billion dollars, never questioning the job’s or the payment’s validity. And the mall is in quite a state. As are Tim and Eric.
I did not expect that I would like this film, and I was spot on with my expectations. It really wasn’t my cup of tea.
I saw the trailer for this film and I was pretty sure that it would be missing my sense of humor more than it would be hitting it. And I was completely right about that. It was just way too crude for my taste. Sometimes they got me, or I got them (as with “Chef Goldblum”), but most of the time it was just meh to ugh.
Which doesn’t mean that the movie was bad – I just really didn’t know what to do with it at all.
The cameos were pretty great though (apart from John C. Reilly. He acted well, as he usually does, but his character drove me insane). I really enjoyed not only Jeff Goldblum, but I also loved Zach Galifianakis.
And it seemed that most of the people in the audience had a blast. I guess if you like that kind of thing, you’ll enjoy this movie, too. But I didn’t.
Summarising: If you enjoyed Talladega Nights, this is probably the film for you.
