1) Do you always answer your phone?
Not always, no. Sometimes I’m in class or otherwise inconvenienced or I’m asleep or I don’t hear the phone etc. But if I have the time and I hear the phone, I usually pick up.
2) You love...
a lot of things. Yeah, I’m a materialistic bitch, I couldn’t live without my books or my computer or my DVDs.
But I also love one or the other person. Only a few, though, mind you. :P Like my small family. And my friends.
3) If you could change your eye color what would it be?
I like my eye colour (green), thanks. But I’m also a sucker for brown eyes.
4) What flavor do you add to your drink at Sonic?
What the where how who? That must be something we don’t have in Austria. Can’t answer this. What is it?
5) Do you own a digital camera?
Yes, though I rarely use it. I’m really bad at taking photos and I always forget to do so anyway.
6) Have you ever had a pet fish?
No. Probably the most boring pet ever. And not even cuddly. Though they don’t jump on cakes, methinks.
7) Favorite Christmas song?
Silent Night? I’m Dreaming of a White Christmas?
Honestly, don’t know. Never thought about it.
8) What’s on your wish list for your birthday?
May I direct you here? Btw, my birthday is coming up and I will graciously accept anything you want to offer me. ;)
9) Can you do push ups?
One or two maybe. Then again, probably not.
10) Can you do a chin up?
No. And I probably never will.
11) Does the future make you more nervous or excited?
The future itself doesn’t make me anything. We’ll see what comes along. Whatever happens, we’ll deal and make the best of it.
13) Ever been in a car wreck?
Yes. Though it wasn’t completely bent and so on, it couldn’t drive anymore [I’m telling you, going 140 km/h on a curvy street in the rain when you’re tired is not a good idea]. I guess that counts as a wreck.
14) Do you have an accent?
Of course I do. Who doesn’t?
In German, I have an Austrian accent, specifically an upper middle class Viennese accent, which is probably the closest to “high” German an Austrian can get and still sound like one.
In English, I have an US-American accent, unfortunately [nothing against American English, I just think that Scottish sounds way better]. More specifically a pretty non-descript northern states accent. Like they speak in the movies. :)
In French, I have a very bad mixture of Congolese-Belgian and French as an accent. I sound more Congolese than the Congolese do, sometimes. And sometimes I sound way too French for a Congolese. In any case, I speak with Belgian vocabulary, so I kind of don’t fit anywhere.
In Portuguese, I have a Sao Paulo, Brasil accent. they don’t have the soft Ss like in Rio, but also not the hard Rs like in the south or in Portugal.
All other languages I don’t speak well enough not to have an Austrian accent, I guess.
Uff, I guess, whoever asked that question didn’t think that the answer could be that detailed… :)
15) What is the last song to make you cry?
Bedshaped by Keane. My newest favourite song.
16) Plans tonight?
Uni. After I come home, probably see an episode of Lost and then go to Bed. Exciting, isn’t it?
17) Have you ever felt like you hit rock bottom?
Guess what, it can always be worse. I may have felt awful, but I’m actually a very lucky and privileged person.
18) Name 3 things you bought yesterday.
Yesterday was Sunday, so I didn’t buy anything [Yeah, shops aren’t open in Austria on Sundays.]
19) Have you ever been given roses?
Nope. But I have given roses. :)
20) Current worry?
I don’t worry a whole lot, I have to admit. I don’t see the point. But of course, there’s the usual things like “what will I do in ten years” or “will I ever write that novel that’s been in my head for years and is bound to win countless literary prizes”. Not really worries. Just stuff I think about.
21) Current hate right now?
Chuggers. Everyday, at least once. It’s always the same guys, they should know me by now. But they don’t and they always ask me again. And I just want to tell them that I really don’t have any money right now and that they should fuck off. But I’m much too polite for that. Anyway, they wouldn’t believe me but tell me that it isn’t much and blablabla. I HATE THEM.
[Just to be clear, I hate them as an institution and not as persons.]
22) Met someone who changed your life?
Pretty much daily.
23) How did you bring in the New Year?
At my aunt’s and at my sister’s. Drove around a bit between those two.
24) What song represents you?
Hmm… there’s this quote in Anansi Boys about this:
“Each person who ever was or is or will be has a song. It isn’t a song that anybody else wrote. It has its own melody, it has its own words. Very few people get to sing their song. Most of us fear that we cannot do it justice with our voices, or that our words are too foolish or too honest, or too odd. So people live their song instead.”
I don’t know what my song is. Probably something like “I live my life, my own life, between movies and books, fantasies and realities, family and friends… lalalala”.
As for a song another person wrote and that represents me… I don’t know. Many songs and none at all. Caravan by Blur, perhaps. Or Maybe Tomorrow by Stereophonics. And in more Emo moments How Soon Is Now? by The Smiths. And… No, I reall can’t say.
25) Name three people who might complete this?
Don’t know. People around here don’t seem so big on the whole meme thing. :)
26) What were you doing 12 AM last night?
Sitting in front of the computer. Was I still watching a TV show or checking my mail? Don’t know.
27) What was the first thing you thought of when you woke up?
I can sleep another ten minutes, surely.
You have green eyes? Cool!
Also, NO shops are open on Sundays? Most of them close even here, and a lot more back home(back home being the relatively small predominantly christian town, and here being the predominantly Hindu metro) but you could still get…most things, actually. Except maybe like jewelry or cars or something.
Yep, green eyes, though they’re leaning more towars brown than blue. :)
Nope, no shops. Exceptions are made for news stands and supermarkets located at major points of public transportation (train stations and airport) but that’s it…
Not including restaurants and cafés, though, they’re usually open.
Austria’s still very catholic at heart. ;)
