Porno Shorts

At this year’s /slash Filmfestival, there was a porno short film collection curated by the people of the Porn Filmfestival Berlin and the Vienna Independent Shorts Festival.

The collection was an interesting mix and sometimes surprisingly not pornographic at all. After the jump, I’ll talk about them one by one.

Just a warning, if the title wasn’t enough, this post is NSFW. I should also add a Trigger Warning for the first film and possibly the second.

Gang Bang Barbie [you can watch it at that link]
Director: Joanna Rytel

Plot:
A woman, an unconscious man, alcohol and a whole damn lot of barbies partying – and then the barbies start raping the guy.

I was really not prepared for rape (especially since the title implied nothing of the sort) and I was really floored by that – porn films (at least for me) are films featuring sex, not rape. It was disgusting, but it felt like I was supposed to find it funny. Didn’t happen and really was not a good way to start a short film collection that I thought would be more fun.

Possession
Director: Inside Flesh Collective

Plot:
A woman is fucked by a wrapped figure that changes from male to female.

Possession was sometimes a little hard to watch as the picture kept wobbling and the cuts were jumpy. But despite that I found it extremely interesting and also sexy.

The Lady is Dead
Director: Roy Raz

It’s a music video to a great song – The Irrepressibles’ In This Shirt – and a surreal thing of beauty. I don’t really know why it was shown during a porn night, but I’m just happy I got to see it. And you can watch it, too:

Vous etes ma joie vous etes une chienne ma délicieuse tarte [You Are My Joy You Are My Dog My Delicious Tart]
Director: Ylva Lamm

Plot:
Basically it’s a homemade sex tape.

It started off very nice but then it went on a little too long and the editing grew weird – with split screens and mirroring – and I just was bored by it.

[Image not actually related to the short movie but I couldn’t even find a related link, so you gotta take what google gave me.]

Endlich Urlaub [Finally Vacation]
Director: Jan Soldat

Plot:
A man masturbates languidly in his apartment.

It was nice but didn’t move me much. Also, the rest of the audience annoyed me during this one – they started laughing and wouldn’t stop and I don’t really know why. Because the guy used a dildo? Because he was so content with himself? Because when we see masturbation in film it’s ususally in a comic context? Anyway it was an unfitting reaction.

Rosamour
Director: Romain Thibaud Rose, Hédi Zammouri

Plot:
Rosamour shows two bellies, more or less in conversation with each other.

It was really impressive what they were able to do with their bellies, but the whole thing could have been a little shorter. You can watch it, too:

Blue (Sky) Movie
Director: Werther Germondari, Maria Laura Spagnoli

Transition
Director: Katharina Swoboda

Plot:
Two women pass an egg from mouth to mouth in an endless loop.

The movie was really short and I was kinda grateful for that. It seemed pointless, and also I didn’t really get the porn part of it all. But see for yourself:

Cold Star
Director: Kai Stänicke

Plot:
A young man at a swimming pool gets pressured by a group of guys to take a high dive and receives help from a surprising source, leading to quite another story.

Cold Star is almost but not quite a music video that reminded me a lot of The Lady Is Dead in its aesthetic. And much like The Lady Is Dead it is a thing of beauty. I loved it.

Filthy Food
Director: T. Arthur Cottam
Cast: Annie Terrazzo

Plot:
A woman (Annie Terrazzo) gets up close and oral with her food.

Filthy Food was extremely charming and funny, but I could have done without the appearence of Cookie Dough.

Die Intrige und die Archenmuscheln [Intrigue and the Ronches]
Director: Kurdwin Ayub

Plot:
A rock concert sung by a penis, with supporting vocals by a few vaginas.

I thought the idea was fun and it looked really good. It didn’t have me jumping in my seat from awesome, but it was good.

Pornographic Apathetic
Director: T. Arthur Cottam
Cast: John Falchi, Jenna Leigh, Jim Lightfoot, Annie Teegardin

Plot:
4 people re-enacting the audio side of porn, but as the title already suggests in an apathetic way.

This short film was great. Funny like hell, very well made and it had me doubling over with laughter. Also, I really need to use “You, my bisexual love toy!” in a conversation at some point.

The Big Bad Wolf
Director: Keith Schofield

Plot:
Music video for Duck Sauce’s The Big Bad Wolf.

This was the only movie of the night that I already knew, but I do think it’s fun. And Keith Schofield’s music videos generally are worth watching.
